Workplace projects rarely arrive from one direction. These are the roles we most often sit alongside, and what each of them needs the technology scope to do.
- Owners, IT and facilities teams
- Infrastructure you can actually run: documented networks with capacity headroom, segmentation you can reason about, access rights that can be changed without a site visit, and systems that scale as headcount and floor area change. Everything handed over with drawings, schedules and credentials.
- Procurement teams
- A clearly bounded technology scope with defined deliverables, interfaces and exclusions — so the package can be evaluated on what it includes rather than on what has been left ambiguous between trades.
- Architects and workplace designers
- Coordination on the things that show: ceiling and wall integration, meeting-room technology, display and speaker positions, access readers at entrances, and the equipment environments those systems need behind the scenes.
- IT consultants
- Structured cabling, wired and wireless architecture, rack and server-room layouts, and the dependencies between them documented against your design intent — including where our scope meets your equipment and applications.
- MEP, ELV and technology consultants
- Design coordination, scope definition, interface schedules and specification compliance, through testing, commissioning and the handover documentation set. Where you hold the design, we deliver to it and coordinate the interfaces with the other trades.
- Fit-out contractors and builders
- A defined specialist package that fits your programme — containment and first-fix in sequence, second-fix after finishes, commissioning windows agreed in advance, and one point of contact for the whole technology scope.
- Main and prime contractors
- Zentrum can be considered for appropriately defined ELV and integrated technology packages within larger contracted projects. We take responsibility for a bounded systems-integration scope, coordinate with the other packages, and deliver it with the testing, commissioning and documentation the wider contract requires.

What corporate clients and project teams ask us.
At what stage should ELV and IT infrastructure be planned in an office fit-out?
As soon as the space plan is stable. Cabling routes, containment, rack and comms-room positions, power and cooling for equipment, and access-point and camera locations all depend on the layout — and all of them are cheap to place on a drawing and expensive to move once ceilings and partitions are closed. Waiting until fit-out is under way usually means compromised positions rather than impossible ones, but the compromises are permanent.
Can Zentrum coordinate with an appointed IT, MEP or ELV consultant?
Yes. Where a consultant holds the design, we deliver against their specification, work to their interface schedules, and provide the testing, commissioning and as-built documentation the design requires. Where no consultant is appointed, we can define the technology scope ourselves and set the same boundaries and documentation.
Can several technology disciplines be delivered as one coordinated scope?
That is the normal shape of our work. Cabling, networking, wireless, security, access, communication, audio visual and building systems share infrastructure and interfaces, so delivering them as one package removes the gaps that appear when each is procured separately — a single programme, one set of drawings, one commissioning sequence and one handover.
Can Zentrum work as a specialist package under a main contractor?
Yes. We work as a specialist technology and ELV integrator on appropriately defined subcontract packages, taking responsibility for the systems within that scope, coordinating with the other packages on site, and issuing the testing, commissioning and documentation required by the main contract.
