02 / The foundation

Structured cabling is the physical foundation the rest of the technology stack depends on. Categories, fibre counts, pathway sizes, cabinet locations and labelling discipline are decisions the building has to live with for years.

Zentrum designs the cabling plant as part of the architectural and MEP coordination, then installs and documents it so the client owns something maintainable rather than something merely working.

Cabinet and equipment-room locations, riser and pathway sizing, and the power and cooling that serve those rooms decide what the network can do for a decade. They are the decisions worst suited to being retrofitted, and best suited to being resolved with the architect and MEP consultant at design stage.
