Seamless Connectivity

One SSID, one identity, one experience — roaming that holds across floors, buildings and outdoor space.

One SSID, one identity, one experience — across floors, buildings and campuses.

Hotel circulation space where wireless coverage has to follow guests between areas

02 / The foundation

Seamless connectivity is what a wireless network is meant to feel like — one network across floors, buildings and outdoor space, with roaming that survives everyday movement.

Zentrum designs wireless as one fabric rather than a set of independent access points — roaming, band steering and wired backhaul all part of the same conversation.

Part of Seamless Wi-Fi Networking.

03 / System anatomy

How the infrastructure is put together.

Roaming behaviour depends on access-point placement, wired backhaul and controller decisions taken together. Bringing wireless design into the wider infrastructure early is what allows the network to feel like one fabric rather than a set of islands.

  1. 01 /

    The building fabric

Concrete cores, block walls, glass and metal decide where signal actually goes — before any hardware is chosen.

  2. 02 /

    Wired infrastructure

Cabling, containment and PoE capacity reaching every position an access point may need to occupy.

  3. 03 /

    Access-point positions

Positions set by the plan and the ceiling detail, coordinated with lighting, sprinklers and the interior.

    • Interior
    • Circulation
    • Outdoor
  4. 04 /

    Coverage

Signal reaching the spaces people use, including stairs, lifts, terraces and back-of-house areas.

  5. 05 /

    Capacity

Enough throughput for the number of devices in a room at once — coverage and capacity are not the same problem.

    • Device density
    • Throughput
  6. 06 /

    Roaming

One network name and a clean hand-off as people move between floors, buildings and outdoor areas.

Outcome /

Wireless that behaves the same in every room.

Conceptual only — real coverage is set per project against the drawings and the materials in the build.

Conceptual wireless coverage diagram: the building fabric informs wired infrastructure, which reaches coordinated access-point positions, producing coverage, then capacity for device density, and finally seamless roaming between areas.

04 / Design principles

What we hold the installation to.

  • One-fabric SSID design

SSID structure and security across a single wireless environment.

  • Roaming

Handover between access points and floors tuned for calls, streams and sessions.

  • Band steering

Clients steered to the right band for their behaviour, not left to guess.

  • Wired backhaul

Switching, uplinks and PoE budget engineered as part of the wireless design.

  • Monitoring

Wireless monitoring and reporting the network team can operate.

06 / Coordination and delivery

How the package runs.

  1. 01 /Understand where wireless has to feel seamless, and where it does not.
  2. 02 /Design SSID structure, roaming, backhaul and controller architecture as one.
  3. 03 /Coordinate access-point positions, cabling and power with the design team.
  4. 04 /Install, tune and validate roaming and coverage under representative use.
  5. 05 /Hand over monitoring and documentation for the operating team.
  • 01802.11r / k / v fast roaming across the whole estate
  • 02Identity-based access with certificate or SSO integration
  • 03Cross-building controller architecture
  • 04Guest, staff, contractor and IoT segmentation
