Fire Suppression
Clean-agent, gas and pre-action suppression matched to the risk in each individual room.
Clean-agent, gas and pre-action suppression for data halls, electrical rooms and sensitive interiors.

02 / The discipline
Fire suppression is the response layer of the fire strategy — the system chosen for the risk in a given space, from clean-agent protection of critical equipment to water-based suppression across occupied areas.
Zentrum designs suppression systems alongside detection and alarm so the response is coherent with the wider strategy and coordinated with the room.
Part of Safety Systems.
03 / Zones and layers
How the system is layered.
Suppression systems carry cylinders, pipework, discharge nozzles and interfaces that affect the room they protect. Bringing suppression into the coordination early — with the fire consultant, architect and MEP consultant — is what allows the response system to belong to the space.
- 01 /
Detection
Detectors and devices positioned for the room they serve — ceiling heights, airflow, finishes and use.
- Smoke
- Heat
- Manual call points
- 02 /
Circuits and wiring
Loops, containment and segregation planned with the electrical package rather than around it.
- 03 /
Panels
Control equipment located where it can be reached, read and maintained by the people responsible for it.
- 04 /
Notification
Sounders, voice messaging and visual devices coordinated with the interior and the acoustic conditions.

- 05 /
Interfaces
Defined interfaces to access control, building management and communication, with life safety taking priority.
- 06 /
Records
As-built drawings, device schedules and handover documentation kept with the building.
Outcome /
A calm, documented, maintainable installation.
Zentrum coordinates with applicable project requirements, authority processes and life-safety expectations where relevant. We are not an inspection or certification body.
04 / Design principles
What the design is held to.
Clean-agent suppression
Gaseous suppression for critical equipment areas where water is not appropriate.
Gas suppression coordination
Cylinder locations, discharge pathways and ventilation coordinated with the room.
Water-based suppression
Water-based systems designed against the coverage and risk of the space.
Detection integration
Suppression release coordinated with detection and the wider cause-and-effect.
Testing and commissioning
System commissioning and documentation the operating team can maintain.
01 /
Room integrity testing and door-fan sealing
02 /
Concentration modelling for the specific volume
03 /
Personnel-safety signage and abort circuits
05 / Where it applies
Where this is installed.
Also delivered in: Data centres and server rooms · Critical equipment areas · Corporate offices and headquarters · Industrial and warehousing.
06 / Coordination and delivery
How the package runs.
- 01 /Read the fire strategy and understand which suppression is appropriate where.
- 02 /Design cylinders, pipework, discharge and interfaces against that.
- 03 /Coordinate with the fire consultant, architect and MEP consultant.
- 04 /Install, test, commission and document the system.
- 05 /Hand over documentation and training the operating team can maintain.
- 01Clean-agent (FM-200 / Novec) systems for IT and electrical rooms
- 02Pre-action systems for archives and sensitive interiors
- 03Detection, release panels and cause-and-effect logic
- 04Post-discharge ventilation and re-entry sequences

What this works with.
- Fire DetektionAspirating and addressable detection for towers, data centres, warehouses and sensitive interiors.
- Data CentresIn-building data-centre design — power, cooling, containment, cabling, security and monitoring.
- Server Room SetupsCompact server rooms for corporate floors, villas and outbuildings — quiet, cool and cleanly cabled.
- Safety Systems
- Suppression is coordinated with detection and alarm across the fire strategy.
- Building Automation
- HVAC and dampers coordinate with suppression release through defined interfaces.
- Electronic Security
- Access and lockdown coordinate with suppression cause-and-effect where relevant.
- Connected Communication
- Announcements can coordinate with suppression events where designed to.
