02 / The discipline

Fire detection is quiet infrastructure that is expected to behave precisely when it is needed. Detector selection, coverage, zoning and cause-and-effect logic all follow from the fire strategy for the building.

Zentrum coordinates the detection system with the fire consultant, the architect and the MEP consultant so the physical and logical design align with the way the building is meant to operate.

Detector layouts, containment routes, panel locations, and the interfaces to HVAC, access, lifts and communication are all coordination work — worked through with the fire consultant, the architect and the MEP consultant so the physical, logical and operational design align.
